I make these guides because when I was new to the PSP Hacking Community, I did not know anything at all until I had help from fellow afterDawners. (Thank you!) And I just thought I should contribute something back so I decided to make guides.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, this program was made long ago but I still get questions on how to rip a game so I decided to make a guide.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a program released by "Booster" (The creater of Devhook) which allows you to mount PSP's "System Data" and "System Device" to USB Storage. But for this tutorial we'll just be using this to dump a game rip.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll try and keep this guide up to date as much as I can.

I've tried this already and I can confirm that this works

But let's hope Booster can release another version of this amazing app.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've made this guide for the purpose of new users* who are new to the PSP Hacking Community so bare with me if the steps sound too simple as everything is explained for someone who is new to this. *(I don't like to call them noobs as we were all noobs once) Please reply back if this worked for you.

EDIT: A thank you would be nice if this guide worked for you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This works like a charm and for those of yous who don't know how to get this to work do the following and I pray for you that this will work: ( PS: I am not a Christian ):P
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:

This should work on 1.50 firmwares, and definitely custom firmwares.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:

I have made this guide as noob friendly and hassle free as possible.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow this guide completely in every steps and it will work

1.) Download "USB Special System Storage":
HERE: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1008
2.) Extract it using "WinRAR". (Search on "Google" if you don't have this)
3.) Open the folder you extracted from "WinRAR". (USBSSS_100)
4.) Copy the folder "PSP" inside the folder "MS_ROOT" to the ROOT Folder of your PSP MEMORY STICK. (E.G. X) - (X as in the drive letter of your PSP) - (Just allow it to overwrite, it will only add extra files and folders)
5.) Exit from "USB Connection" but keep your USB Cable in..
6.) Then in "XMB" go to "GAME" -> "Memory Stick" -> and start "USB Special System Storage"
7.) Now put in the "UMD" you want to rip into your PSP.
8.) Select the first option; "Virtual FAT16 . UMD ISO-9000".
9.) Now go to "My Computer" and open up the PSP drive.
10.) Now you should see your game.
11.) Now copy your game to anywhere you want on your Computer. - (E.x. "Desktop")
12.) Now your rip is being made, the rip will be finished when the percentage on the PSP has reached 0% again then press "X" to disconnect. - (DO NOT disconnect until the percentage has gone back down to 0 again or your rip will be incomplete.)
13.) Now just choose "Exit to XMB".
14.) And you are done. (Easy, wasn't it?)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note 1:

This couldn't have happened without:
Booster - for this AWESOME app
and
The people who made this site of course!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please give me a message if you are going put my guide elsewhere and you can also give me a PM if you have problems too of course
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anything wrong with the guide just tell me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It sometimes stay at 99% or 100% for a while. If it doesn't drop back down to 0 again in say 5 mins then just disconnect anyway and try the game out and see if it works.

Hi Dude,

Thanks for this tutorial.
Just one question about it, after copy all files from UMD to my folder, how is the best way to convert it in a ISO file? Could you please clarify this point?

Best,

I've loaded the USB SSS, but when I try to rip my UMD it says "The game could not be started. (8002014C)" I am running 3.02 OE-A. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it.

to Mrahlf,

You can fix this erro "The game could not be started. (8002014C)" just adding a folder GAME150 inside of MS: PSP>GAME150.
Copy USBSS inside it and run USBSS again.

I hope it suits you well.

Mrhalf:

also make sure that your homebrew folder is set to GAME150 by rebooting your psp into recovery mode and the holding r button during psp boot up. then go to configuration and make sure the homebrew folder is set to game150

To birador66

First thing first STOP UPGRADING YOUR PSP'S FIRMWARE or you will NOT BE ABLE to play homebrews e.t.c. At the moment there is still one more chance for you to play homebrews e.t.c. But if you upgrade to 3.10 or higher then you are dead.. But this does not mean you should upgrade to firmware LOWER than 3.10 yet as I cannot confirm this method will work for you unless you check your motherboard.

Second please go here to check if your PSP is TA-082:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/369035

Then reply and I'll continue to help you.
