Hi I have searched this forum and I have looked at http://www.dvdrhelp.com. My problem arises when I try to copy the audio stream from a XViD AVI. VirtualDub tells me that: "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format" - I know this seem very obvious, Install the right codec/decoder, dumbass! - but - I have installed almost every codec known to man, I really have . I tried using Gspot to see the codecs used in the file, and it lists 3 currently on my box, that can dbe used, but in Vdub it can't figure out the audio format. It is starting to bug me. Box specs is, if you want them: P4-Northwood 2.6@3.1 Abit IC-7 1GB Corsair PC3200 -Gate
What is the audio stream for that xvid file? If the file uses an AC3 stream then youll have to use VirtualDubmod. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdubmod/VirtualDubMod_1_5_4_1_All_inclusive.zip?download
Yup the audio stream is AC3, but I got the stream out with headac3he. But then tmpgenc tells me there is something wrong with the video stream, so it can't encode the .mpg file. Trying Dvd2svcd now. Thanks for the help anyway. - Isn't it encredible how many little progs and files you get on your box, when you have no idea what your doing???
You have probably considered this already but dont install different versions of the xvid codec as they dont like each other! Nice box by the way! (NorthwoodB i'm assuming?)
