DREAMBOX 500C

can anyone help me please I cant seem to get any lock or sync on the service scan ?
I have flashed the box with different images but still cant get anything I have heard of a brute force scan but dont seem to have that option.

what image you using ?
what are the scan options they should be 6952, 6887 and in most uk images bruteforce.
you may have an unmodified image ?

I am using gemini 3.30
NTL
the only options i have are all sr6900 and all sr6875

 

Go to the manual scan menue and do a manual scan with the frequency 00755 and the symbol rate 06887.

 

still not getting anything

 

Are you sure your cable feed is alive?

 

Yes I am getting broadband through it ok

 

Maybe signal strength too strong or too weak for the box.

 

I am now getting a valid transponder found on the automatic scan but still no channels. Any ideas on the brute force method ?

DW Dream Menu via the Blue button
Tuner Selection - switch between old and new tuner drivers.
EMU Selection - Evocamd_2.13 & Mgcamd_1.16 (evocamd by default)
Reload Channels - Reload channels after copying services and bouquets
Image Backup & Restore - Backup and flash options (read instructions)
Box will be rebooted after new tuner driver selection.

When reloading channels...the following must be done before selecting this option...

Copy services and bouquets files to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma
Copy userbouquet filers to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/cable

Made easier if you just backup the whole enigma folder.

When selecting image backup option, image will be created in the /tmp folder called DW.img.

When flashing a new image, copy the .img file to the /tmp folder and rename as DW.img before selecting the option. FlashWizardPro backups will not work (i.e. .fw2 or .fwz).

Wiggys recording plugin - mount to /hdd/movie for it to work.

NAS/Samba support - mount via the web interface.

New boot screen and boot audio file.
If you ftp a .m1v (boot screen use logoviewer to convert jpg/gif/bmp etc to m1v) or .mp3 (audio file) to /var/etc and reboot the box then they will overwrite the existing ones.

Updated UK 1.6.1 to include the DVR option when setting a timer.

When viewing the epg, press YELLOW then GREEN then APPLY.

You should now see a yellow timer next to the scheduled program.

To cancel the timer...

Press MENU > TIMER then RED to remove.

I dont seem to have any sky movies etc although i have sky sports and setanta.

Is there something else i need to do ?

 

most probably a signal issue try an slx1 booster from b&q
for 8.99

dreamboxes are excellent but i'm always reading about people with signal issues.

I have no signal issues with my dreambox but my sagem dbox2 needs a booster and i use the slx1 with it.

hiya - I also have a 500-C and trying to setup a connection to NTL I am having the same issues as the OP. Could you possibly relink / send the modded firmware as that link seems to have sadly expired.

Just a wee question does ntl/virgin have pay per view movies as my box doesnt seem able to pick them up

 

Thanks for that file - I'd actually managed to find the 1.6's in the meantime and they are working a treat (but I'll take the new version for a future patch).

Just 2 questions though (as I'm very new to this) if I may:

1)- Bouquets - I can see how to add them (using the handy newbies guide) but it mentions I can select from the list of providers or the list of services. I can get to the provider list but not sure how to switch to see services instead (which is a far easier way to set them up I'd have thought!)

2)- Some channels - notably anything adult appear on my services list but I don't seem to be able to get to view them - just black screen - is there anything additional I need to do here? (checked and Parental controls are off - yes i'm well over 21.... much more over than I'd like to be!)
