1. You havnt given us much to work with ;-) 2. Bad sectors is protection 3. What title are you trying to detect? (I'm guessing an incredibly old game)
I tried it on Starcraft, Half-Life,and Soldier of Fortune it always says bad sectors. Can someone tell me how to bypass it using Alcohol 120%?
Well Soldier Of Fortune "use" to be a overburn (CloneCD) and I don't recall any cd protection on that game. Damn I'm gettin' old.... Use the Safedisc 1x for backing up Half Life& Starcraft and you should be good to go. I remember backing up Soldier of Fortune about 2 years ago, when 700 mb disc were'nt around.... Shoey
That must have been exciting Anyways, with regards to StarCraft and SOF, you should have any problems even if you just do a "copy-to-HDD-and-burn dataCD" duplication. HalfLife is a little fancier though, wont that jury rigged technique wont work - i've tried it hehe. Just have a go at it with CloneCD. With a modern drive, it should make mincemeat of those games.
Actually it was m8. CloneCD managed to [bold] overburn 20+ mb's on a 650 megabyte disc (no joke) [/bold] Shoey
Geez I only managed to pull of 7MB on a 650 hehe... i wonder why 700s are so much easier to overburn?
