Well MPEG4 files are AVI files... odds are you are just missing a codec/filter of sorts. Open the file up with AVICodec or GSpot to see if you have the required codecs. AVICodec: http://avicodec.duby.info/ GSpot: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
I wouldnt call mpeg-4 stupid, just a little slow on the uptake. Anyways, another alternative to using a divx or xvid codec to playback your movies(im assuming that your movies use either of the two.) is the FFDshow filter.
Yes and Realplayer isnt exactly the "premier" AVI player either... there might be some proprietory issues there but that's just me speculating hehe
Thats true, If it werent for the rm files that i have, i would have never downloaded it. Other great(er) players you could try out: Media Player Classic -- http://www.divx-digest.com/software/media_player_classic.html ZoomPlayer -- http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/zoom_player.html BSPlayer -- http://www.divx-digest.com/software/bs_play.html The Core Media Player -- http://www.divx-digest.com/software/tcmp.html
i like realone, don't hate it should play the avis if you have the codecs installed as somebody already said i just had to get in on this post to defend realone
LOL its not that I hate RealPlayer/RealOne its just I dont think its very efficient as a player hehe.
