Is there a way to delete your private messages?

That would be kinda cool, actually a little suggestion here dRD when you go to send someone a PM, if u have a long list of PM you have to scroll passed them all to get to the "Compose A New Private Message" link and for lazy people like me, thats not good lol

Well give him time to think about it. I know from speaking with dRD on IRC that he barely has time to do things from months back so we should stop piling on the work really!

Nah, its better to get feedback than no feedback at all. And all of these things are issues that NEED to be addressed -- timeline for finishing the fixes is somewhat fuzzy yet, but anyway..

Maybe also a good idea to be able to create folders, just like in a free email service.

hello- i am real new at this. i got an email that said i have a private message. i logged into the afterdark.com and got the "welcome" but when i clicked the "private message" line, it came back "you have to log in first". but i did log in. what an i doing wrong?

    thanks.

p.s. don't send a reply as a private message or i won't be able to read it.

Wel scroll up right to the top of this page and on the right hand side it will display
    grey options e.g.
    add to bookmark
    search messages
    edit etc etc
if private message is listed click and your there
however if it is not (which willmost probably be the case since your new to this)
    click on log in
sucessfully log in and then the private message option will be displayed ok
    fanx

    uk_mewz-

thanks for the reply. i have been doing just as you suggest. i log in, i see that grey private messages, but when i click on it, it gives me a "you have to log in first" message. i log in, it gives me that "welcome back" you can now browse as a registered user, but i still cannot seem to get into those private messages.

they must be really private, even from me.

Hm. Our system checks if your IP remains the same during the usage session and if it doesn't, it kills your cookie which normally keeps you logged in. I've fixed the issue with proxies earlier this year, so my only guess is that you use some tool that ""protects your privacy"" (which they don't do, your IP is always there) by tweaking the HTTP headers of yours. Try turning all kinds of thingies like Norton AntiVirus, etc off for a moment and see if that helps -- and please report back to this thread whether it helped or not.

dRD- thanks for the suggestions. i turned off norton, i changed the internet security to low, but i still get that "you have to log in first" message even after i get the "welcome back" greeting. i am using AOL 9.0 plus- does that do anything weird?

it maybe because u maybe using the AOL browser to access the afterdawn.com site
i suggest you use IE watever version 4,5 or 6
and arrange the cookie settings by going to tools and internet options

    hello all-

thanks so much! i did what UK_MEWZ suggested and used internet explorer instead of AOL 9.0 plus and voila, i got to the private messages!

i am so happy this fix did not involve changing a bunch of settings and hopping on one foot!

thanks to all for your help!
