    I bought the m3 dssimply, and the m3 ds lite perfect and I really like it but I have some questions regarding saves. I know that the gameshark duo/exploder cheat saves allows you to download saves and upload them onto gamecards, can I do this with m3 save files, take the saves off the microSD and put them on a real game? If possible what steps are involved? Do they need patching? Is there any way to do this without buying a gameshark? Is there any way to save the files off of an original card and back them up for later use/use them with a ROM on my M3? Can the codebreaker do this or only the gameshark?

    REIN will do exacly what you want.

    good thing you have a m3 lite along with your simply.

    to get .sav from original game.
    1. put REIN on your microsd that goes into the m3 lite with gamemanager.
    2. turn on ds, run rein from m3 lite(must press start instead of A).
    3. click ds sav->sav file.
    4. take out simply/passme.
    5. insert original game.
    6. press A... wait...###100%!(you probably won't notice the wait)
    7. the .sav should now be on your microsd.(it's "a wierd filename".sav)
    8. clicking/tapping the m3 manager let's you inject the .sav into a .dat you have for the backup.
    -a. you will not be able to use the .sav on your m3 in the raw .sav format. so inject it to the .dat now by clicking/tapping the option.
    -b. it can be converted for use with the simply by transforming it into a .sav file with the simply's save transformer (make sure the save name is exactly the same; ex. XblahZ.nds, XblahZ.sav).
    -c. you may want to keep the "raw" .sav just in case...

    uploading a save to an original game.
    /edit: SEE BELOW... hehe.[yes, i did link to the post below, because some people are just sooo lazy...]

    note: i am not liable for any damages (not likely, but meh).

    note: max2sc.exe(gooooooogle...) turns armax save files into supercard save files. the supercard files can be transformed [with the simply's save transformer] into simply .sav files. this is helpful if you get saves from http://gamefaqs.com and such.

    When I take the saves the M3 creates (rom name).sav and try to upload it to original card using REIN I get the following error:
    TYPE=2
    FOPEN ERROR
    NG
    FAILD RESTORE

    To clarify a big part of the reason I want to do this is since I have a simply, that doesn't mean I won't be buying games. If I like a game well enough I will still buy it. Can I convert the m3 saves to raw saves?

    yeah i goofed on some of the instructions (new to rein).

    1. put the microsd from m3 simply into your computer.
    2. get the save.
    3. put the microsd from m3 lite into your computer.
    4. open up game manager.
    5. locate your microsd.
    6. double click any backup/homebrew that ends in ".nds". i suggest homebrew. just so you won't mess a game's save up.
    7. you are now at save manager.
    8. under the heading "m3 format", click "create blank".
    -name it "whatever".dat
    -save...
    9. highlight it.
    10. under the heading "general format", click "write .sav"
    -navigate to your simply's save from step 2.
    -open...
    -computer steps are now done. remove microsd.
    11. load up rein (you know how by now). *remeber to press start instead of A to launch..
    12. go to "m3 man".
    13. go to "m3->ds".
    14. insert original. press A. ...as prompted.
    15. locate the "whatever".dat from step 8. *most likely in the folder "ndssave".
    16. read the prompt. press start.
    17. working now? pretty darn sure it should...

    Using XbusterZ's instructions I successfully transferred the game file from my backup of Inuyasha Secret of the Divine Jewel (Taken by REIN from original cart after AR cheat applied & played on M3DSS for awhile) Using M3Lite Perfect miniSD.

    Uploaded fine cheat results active but codes no longer applied and upgraded money begins to dwindle. Same game play as on the M3DSS. Worked great. Another good decode for the end user.

    Thank you.

    Good luck magus, hope things are better.

    Having issues, didn't get to try it until today, but now it's not letting me select a .dat file. So, the next question would be how do I convert a .dat to a ds style .sav that rein will recognize?
    --EDIT--
    Didn't read properly, worked like a charm, now I can finally get on with Mario & Luigi Partners in time.

    Is it possible to add the save from the real cart to the DS simply in this fashion?

    Basically, once you've extracted the save file from the game, add the raw .sav file to a .dat file using the m3 game manager, then use the m3 simply's save converter to create an appropriate save file, then you're good to go.

    No, unfortunately, with the simply in slot1 you wouldn't have any way to get the file off the card, you'd need a device of some kind to extract the save.

    Just so you know, XbusterZ, the m3 save converter that comes with the simply will convert raw .sav files to it's format. Tested and verified (once again) w/mario & luigi partners in time.
