Hi Guys, A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine setup one of these screens http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/105261/rb/25901966131 in his bedroom. Only input was a Vista Media Centre and used for web surfing and DVDs. In the past I have never been a fan of projectors, mainly due to poor colours seen in pubs when the footy was on!! But this one was VERY clear, sharp lettering and good colour and brightness. Was this because it was a PC input (using VGA cable)? Or was it just a bargain projector? Basically I am looking for a new display for living room, not a huge room by any stretch, but have a nice empty chimney breast that I could project to. Main use would be HTPC via VGA cable, but occasional standard TV too. I'm just after opinions really, LCD/Plasmas still seem expensive (on my budget) This seems to be a nice size screen for relative low money. What are the downsides and what am i missing lol. most HD projectors I've seen are as good or better than flat screens. If your only use is for the PC it should do fine. If you want to watch movies/games/sports upgrade to 1080i/720p. Downsides: 1. cost of replacement bulbs 2. You must limit/control ambient light for best picture. Hope this helps
Hi, Yes that helps a great deal thanks. I was told about the bulbs by a friend of mine who thinks that makes it not worth while, but I am really torn. I guess the main reason I'm even thinking it is becasue it's cheaper than a decent size LCD/Plasma lol. Thanks again for the advice.
