    Hi Fergus.
There's 2 bits of software that can be used. I think the one that's include on drews site is called SKYMAX.
If I remember correctly, the other one is called jkeys.

I stand to be corrected on this, but I think the gtrom loader can only use serial ports.

yes gtrom is only for serial ports.

jkeys is for jtag-to-serial port & sky keys is for jtag-to-parallel port

Thanks for the info mikey. I didn't know one was for serial, one for parallel.

Do you by any chance have schematics for a jtag-serial cable, as I think all the ones I've seen are for parallel, just that I have a few null modem cables, so one of them could be sacrificed in a good cause.

Neither did I. Left overs from various projects.

Anyway, I found a schematic for the serial-jtag cable, check your pm mikey.

I'll be sticking to the unbuffered parallel.

If anyone else wants the link for the serial-jtag, send me a pm.
I probably won't reply before tomorrow though.

hmmm looks even more stressful than the buffered jtag!! it would be nice to build it into the box and wire it up to the serial porton the back. im sure the jtag port on th sv has otherises - basically its a direct connecton to the CPU so who knows...

Looks like it'll be next week now before I get to build mine. 8am-8pm shifts play havoc with shopping for parts.

I know I could buy online, but I just don't do that.

you only need a few resistors. you could probably put them in the db25 connector
