Hello. I tried to search for help for this specific nero problem, but the info I found wasn't useful. So anyone here know which settings I should change, or if there's anything else to do to fix this. I was able to burn DVDs before, but now I got a new computer (still the old DVD drive though), which means that I installed a new version of nero (7.5.9.0, because I heard from here that it should work). I also updated my firmware to the latest version..Anyways. I'm trying to burn a maxell dvd-rw, and this is the error I get: *** Burn process started at 2x quick format DVD-RW Invalid Command F:Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1673s Could not perform start of Disc-at-Once Burn process failed at 2x *** Here's the LOG.txt Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 7.7.5.1 Internal Version: 7, 7, 5, 1 (Nero Express) Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S>Version: JS0D - HA 1 TA 0 - 7.7.5.1 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? DMA needs to be on, heres a guide to turn back on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 BTW: You are using 7.7.5.1 not 7.5.9.0 (my preference)
Yea, thanks Gwendolin... Well I did go through the DMA settings according to those (excellent btw) instructions, but that didn't help at all. haha, I wonder why this keeps happening to me. All my IDE channels are (and already were) in DMA mode though. And only the second primary IDE channel's device 0 had other than N/A on the current transfer mode (it had Ultra DMA mode 5), so I suppose that's where my DVD drive is connected... Is it normal to have 2 Primary IDE channels and 2 Secondary IDE channels under the IDE/ATAPI controllers? because I do Thanks.
