Hey all i (think) succesfully converted my DVD to DiVX Hes ready with the compressing or whatever hes doing. Anyway it took 7 hours orso, now Virtual Dub is playing the file again. Do i have to let it run or can i abort it nxt time? I followed the steps mentioned in the Guide provided on this site. So what im wondering is can i abort the playback safely or just wait till Virtual Dub gives a signal?
Playing your file? Virtualdub shouldnt be playing anything, itll only encode your video and thats it. Which guide did you use? If you used the 2 pass method and you mean that the first pass has ended and the second pass is starting then you have to let it encode, because the first pass doesnt create a movie. The first pass is used to go through your video and gather information that will later help the codec give you the best results at the bitrate you have chosen.

Virtualdub should output only two files if you use the 2 pass method. Im betting the right file is the biggest one
Ill start him over with a diff. movie soi can see which file should be the right. and now i dont save all edited files in 1 map but for each program a diff. map. Cheers for the help. Ill get back here if i have the nxt dvd converted.
