Hey there. Why is it that approx half of the .bin files I DL are corrupt, the usual message is 'this file does not match the data.cab file'. Not every bin file is this way, but many as of lately have been.

I haven't burned any of the file to a disk, only extracted them using WinISO and installed it from there. Are there that many corrupt files floating around on DC?

    1. Check with CDMage's Corruption checking feature first. Open the BIN file in CDMage, Action --> Scan for Corruption. You can get CDMage from http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/frames.html

    2. Make sure too you dont have harddrive issues

Thank you. The file was corrupted a bit.

I noticed that CDMage can fix some of the corrupted files, which I did, but it still wont work.
After having CDMage fix the corrupted files do I have to do anything to save the newly un-corrupted files over the old ones or does it automatically do that?
Like I said before, after I had them fixed I was still getting the same error messages.

    Thanks again.

    1. Make sure you have a backup of the saved version. Sometimes the correction process is icky

    2. I dont know if you need to resave the file since I havnt had a corrupt BIN in such a long time. Try just extiting CDMage, reopening the file and scanning for errors again. If you get the same errors then you may need to save.
