i tried to follow the guide to do this but but the new comp. does not have a box to change to dvd am idoing something wrong?

Where are you getting lost? At what point? The guide is kind of off (maybe it was for a previous version). Don't use the wizard. Just use regular Nero function (if you accidently find yourself in the wizard, there is an icon on the bottom of the screen that looks like a torch and will take you to regular Nero. Another potential stumbling block: when doing drag and drop, make sure you are dropping to the video folder (not audio, not the root directory). To be on the safe side, double click on the video folder...a new column screen will appear next to the column you just clicked. Now drag and drop to this empty column. This may just sound like gibberish without visuals.
