I had a cheap 1Gb pen MP3 player for xmas off my sister, and seeing as my works van only has a tape/radio and I havnt owned any tapes for many years now, I use it in there with one of those cassette adapter things. I turned it on yest and it started loading then turned off again midway, I swapped batteries and it did the same again... So bought some new batteries. Now it turns on ok but wont show any files so put it on the PC and windows sees it but again shows no files and its size as zero bytes. I have been unable to format it. Windows format just says unable to complete, and a dos format says drive corrupted. Windows checkdisk wont run at all on it, and chkdsk in dos says the device is RAW and wont run on it. I always thought flash memory was just a chip? Is it possible to currupt them with something so simple as a battery failure? Can anyone suggest a method or util that will fix my memory??
