    hi,
i'm using winme and nero 5 with imation 1x-4x cdrw's.

i did a quick erase of a cdrw using nero. 2 minutes later, when it finished, a pop-up with a caution sign said something like, "could not generate toc".

i didn't know what it meant so i just clicked "ok'. without even thinking. now my cdrw drive can't read the cd..? it acts like its going to read the cd then none of the drives lights' light up to recognize the cd. it can read other cd's fine.

so my question is, how do i put a toc to this cdrw? or is this cd dead?

    thanks.!!

    1. Try quick-reformatting the CD again.
    2. If that dont work, try full-formatting the CD

Nero --> Recorder --> Erase Rewritable --> Change 'Quick Erase' to 'Full Erase'

i can't do that, the drive can't even read the disc. nero just hangs for a few seconds, then says, "insert re-writeable disc."

i reload the disc. the drives' lights starts blinking, acting like its reading the cd, then the light just turns off.???

i know the disc can't be dead. i only quick erased it 3-4 times. on my other cdrws of the same brand i quick erased it at least 25-30 times no probs.

is there someway for me to burn/write a new toc to this disc? does an app exist for something like this problem?

If you are so sure... to rule out the possibility.. try burning something with another drive
