Problem booting up

    So I started up my computer and it had a message saying
    I\O error, please insert system disk and press enter

    I put in the disk that came with the computer
    it tells me to press R to start full recovery

    I hit R, then it says " Making recovery partition please wait"
    It goes about 1/10th of the way and stops going

    Any ideas why this is happening?

    Contact Dell, and ask them what to do. Whatever data you had on the hard drive is gone.

    I have an HP Media Center m7250n model though
