Im a newbie so please be patient. I have an optorite dvd +/- burner and everytime I burn a movie or mpeg clip, the movie or clip will only play in the optorite drive. I have anothor computer with a dvd-rom in it and it wont play there either. It wont play on my tabletop apex either. I have tried nero, mydvd, windvd recorder and composer and x copy. I have used tdk and verbatum media both +r's and -r's yet the dvd still will only play on the optorite and nothing else. any suggestions???????

ive tried different levels of the firmware and still no luck. If you go into nero toolkit what RPC region does it say for you optorite. Mine says RPC II. I dont know if this matters or not....im a newb

I just read over at CDRLAbs that there is a way around it to make it work

    Try this:
I found a temporary solution for unreadable DVD-R on my Toshiba SD-M1712 DVD-ROM drive. I used Recordnow Max 4.5 (pxEngine358 update) with TAO-Noclosed mode to backup my data onto DVD-R and that seem to work on my Toshiba. Can other people verify if this method works for other DVD-ROMs. Funny thing is TAO-Closed don't seem to work.

It appears that single session is the culprit! I used nero6.0.0.11 multisession and sure enough it also works. Optorite and single session DVD-R seems to be the problem. Single session DVD-R dont seem to be as compatible when burnt on the Optorite.

(Again I never tried this, but someone else on that site did and it worked for them.)
