I have the application OpenOffice on my PC. Can someone tell for what purpose it serves. Can I easily uninstall it and ould it hae any effec on any other applications or data?

OpenOffice is the freeware, open source application suite that competes with MS Office.

You can uninstall it without any ill effects.
