   i have 2 256mb ram sticks for total of 512--it only shows 448MB am i losing some ram MB's??? why does it shows this when my other pc has 256mb ram and 512mb ram of a total of 768mb??????//and shows 768mb

   your computer must have an integrated 64mb video card in it. that would explain the loss.
