This should work for most Samsungs from what I've seen posted. 1. Turn off your phone, put in a SIM of a provider that it is not locked to, and turn it back on. 2. At the wrong card message, type *#9998*3323#. A message will pop up telling you to press exit, so hit the right softkey. Choose number 8 work, I think). Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work. 3. Type *0141# and then hit call. This will give you a message saying your phone is personalized. 4. Power down your phone and insert a SIM card other than the one that is in it. Power back up your phone. 5. At the SIM code prompt type 00000000, that is 8 zeroes. Your phone should now be unlocked. At least mine seems to be. Let me know how it goes. By the way, I stole all of this info from the threads below. I just kinda smashed it all together.
You rule pal....after days of trying to unlock my 426...i found your post and i worked in 1 minute....thanks alot....awesome..
Thanks. This information is a god send. I am a bit confused however… a chronic condition. You say, “Hit the right soft key”. This is what confuses me. What is the right soft key? Then you go on to say; “number 8 work, I think).” again I am confused. What do you mean?
This didn't seem to work for me -- I couldn't hit "call" or "OK" after the *# sequence -- just got a "emergency calls only" message and it wouldn't budge. :-( Model: Samsung SGH-T209. Locked to the T-Mobile network. Any other suggestions?
I managed to make the following work for my Samsung SGH-T209 locked to the T-Mobile network. Credit goes to toolnut (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/462229#2821568) Posted as follows: Try this 1. Insert other providers sim 2. *2767*3855# wait for your phone to reboot(restart) 3. *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# (this changes network lock w/password 00000000) 4. #7465625*638*00000000# (this deactivates network lock w/00000000) 5. *#7465625# to check all locks If all are inactive, then you are good to go. u can unlock x495.x497.x660.t509.t809 and latest, plus of course T-209. Enjoy!
watch out with these codes, on new firmware versions samsung blocked this trick, of you try to enter the code you get the message "phone locked return for service" and it won't even work with your original simcard anymore then you have to go to an local unlocker, or use samsung remote server with cable do get it back to work again.. so be warned
Well, which are the firmware versions for which this code won't work? Why not post those instead of being alarmist. To check your firmware version, key in *#9999# My T209 was unlocked, firmware version: PT209.05 T209UVFD3 Cheers!
