They were lying. They won't look at it that way, but they were. The footage they were refering to was the UT2K7 and Fight Night. None of the footage shown by Sony (as in ALL the games that followed) were game footage. All video, just like Final Fantasy the Movie. They wanted you to think it was real (which obviously worked) but when cornered, they admitted it wasn't...

I agree with Atariborn, Sony is pushing a media format when there might just be some type of format war (Betamax is a great example, Atari) and you might wind up paying extra $ for something that becomes useless.
Oh, if you read through the PS3 stats again, there is a cute point where they say there is a slot for a 2.5" Hard Drive up to 160GB (ala the PS2). So I'm guessing that they aren't going to include one. That means that everything will have to be loaded from DVD without drive caching. The PS3 could be a $500,000 super computer and if it needs to load data directly from the DVD, it's still going to have crappy performance.
As a side note, since this was brought up already. The fact that they will have Blue Ray is irrelevant. Hard Drives have MUCH faster I/O speeds that ANY DVD drive that Sony could use. Without a drive to cache information, the system will be bottlenecked at the DVD, which is the SLOWEST point in the entire system.
It's called Caching, look it up.

Ok you cant just say Major nelsons website is wrong...its the same thing taken from ign..who got it straight from microsoft. Dont say something is wrong and give no reasons why!! Lets just face it..microsoft isnt stupid enough to get outclassed by sony...the bottom line is that they do good business...obviously!! They will not sell a sub-par system. Go **** yourself..get some proof before you start knockin major nelson.

yeah there is no reson to fight over this. yes I will but I don't think sony would make it that much. They would not make as much $$.

Actually, Major Nelson works for MS. While the numbers they throw around in that article are biased, they ARE factual.
I think this shows a great point, though. Sony released a spew of numbers and figures so they could get people saying "Gee, the PS3 is twice as powerful, it ROCKZZZ!!!!" (Funny, I think people are). Microsoft then releases another bunch of numbers that say... "Actually, the PS3 sucks" Both are biased and only tell the story that that the company wants them to.
You can't really discount the numbers from MS without also discounting the numbers from Sony... Both are fact, but neither is true.

I believe they are equally powerful, it's just wich one is cheaper... if the ps3 was cheapest and came out sooner, i'd get that instead of the 360

I don't hate sony... it's just that after the psp whichly undersold the ds, i feel like sony is trying to take over the industrey. And if they do, there'd be no more game console except for playstations and they could charge how ever much they want. then rich people would have it instead of middle class, and wealthy....just rich people

Hi guys, jus thought i'd throw my two cents in on the subject. I think you all should pay more attention to wat Deezp1 is saying, coz he seems to be the only one making any sense. But before i start sounding like the moderator, i must admit i am dedicated to my ps2(and pc ,but thats got nothing to do with this.) I felt that xbox made the mistake of doing a lot of porting and have only really come up with a handfull of orignal games, where as ps2 have done the opposite. This will be the dividing line between the next-gen. It's not about the power of the system, both will have ample power to work with. It'll come down to games like Halo, GT4, and games like GTA:San Andrea's. This, multiplayer options and easy online access will determine who comes out on top. I'll take a shot in the dark like everyone else here,and say from what i've seen, ps3 look's the goods with things like 7 control pad bluetooth, 3system link without a hub and a spec list longer than a porn stars member. But i guess only time will tell.
I JUST WANT TO COPY DVD'S!, is that to much to ask for?

Right now I play my xbox a lot more than my ps2. I think that there are a lot of great games for the xbox, but the ps2 does have beter games. Now gamecube has 1 game that I play resident evil 4.

why 7, not 8 but 7 controllers. that's such an odd number. anyway, the xbox 360 will have the most games to come out when it launches. You can do more with the 360 than the ps3. honestly. sony is know for unkept promises and being late for delivery. for example, the ps2 was suspose to come a little bit before christmas last year, but instead it came out of the begining of this year. how do we know they won't do the same thing with the ps3. the lie a lot too. plus xbox isn't worry about graphics, they know how good their engine is..
Their trying to work on gameplay. and they have so many features that the graphics don't matter right now..

Ok guys my bad..i shouldnt get all foamin at the mouth its really not worth it..yeah they are both pretty good..both companies are stretching the truth..its gonna be a really close race. Something that really sold me on the xbox is that it seems like they put a whole lot of focus on the community aspect with Live and that sounds really cool..i wanna have friends and strangers all just ready to line up to get a beat down. J allards seems to have good common sense about what he wants to do with the next gen and it just really suits me and it sounds like the game system that i would like to have.

hey zinn, it sounds like you work for microsoft or something, cuase you keep triple replying and sayin 360 is better. and stop with the CHEAPER BS. the xbox was nearly 2x more expensive that the ps3 at launch. and btw. the point that xbox will have 40 games at releas, big woop, a good game takes a year or 2 to make, not all slopply put together in 6 months,thats why most of sonys games always get delayed for a month or 2.GT$ was sent out almost a 3 months later that the original due date. that is becuase sony wanted to add more cars,AND THEY DID!!!
microsof will just slop it together and sent it out.
besides, what is holding bungie back from selling the halo series to the ps2 and ps3. think of the profits they could make. just like how rockstar sold GTA away, microsoft should be fair and sell Halo away.
