Hi, I get my PSP 1.5 tomorrow and need to know a few things to run homebrew please. Which fastloader version is the best?

Is necessary to swap memory sticks to run homebrew games on 1.5?

Thank you in advance...

there really isn't too much difference in them...i prefer fastloader V0.5d...but a lot of people have upgraded to Fastloader V0.7...no you don't have to swap memory sticks when you want to play homebrew...seipsptool will take care of it for you...but most of the homebrew has already been converted over to firmware 1.5...also make sure it is fimware version 1.50 NOT 1.51 or 1.52...otherwise you won't be able to play homebrew on them...good luck, holla ;)

@brian_jai...hey man, i just look back at my psp i gave you some wrong advice on how i had Virtua Tennis playing...i am using Dev HookBoot Launcher V.20..for it...it is the same setup as Fastloader...you can google for hookboot launcher or get it from the link in my sig...i will post a guide for hookboot later...but like it said earlier...it's basically the same setup(placement of folders as Fastloader)...holla ;)

@ evnflow

I googled for Hookboot launcher, and I got hookboot 020. Is that right version? I see that I can change my cpu clock too, is that a good idea? And what are the consequences?
This I what I see once I get to the CPU CLOCK option:

66mhz / 37mhz
111mhz / 54mhz
222mhz / 111mhz <this one is highlighted
333mhz / 166mhz

thx in advance

With Fastloader 0.7 I just need the game on my memory stick, nothing else to do right? BTW, how good does it run the ISO's? Full normal speed?

One more, is there going to be a PSPersonalize for 1.5? I need the datebook program :p.

@NuRon....hello and welcome to the site...here are the requirements for fastloader to work(also same requirements for hookboot launcher): (at least)Firmware Version 1.5, Big enough memory stick(want at least a 512mb for most games, i went for the 1gig to fit almost any game)... and it plays the games at full speed(however when you put the psp in sleep mode, some games lock up went you take it out of sleep mode)...there already is a pspersonalize for FV 1.5...here's a link to the guide for pspersonalize http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/216018 ..and check your private messages...holla ;)

@nuron...which firmware version do you have for your psp?...for firmware version 1.0: take the eboot file that you got from the download and place it in your PSP\GAME directory(to get to this directory...once you plug in your psp a window will pop up with the PSP folder in it...double click on the PSP folder, then double click on the GAME folder)make a new folder and name it JPEG...then just paste or extract the eboot file to the folder you made

for Firmware Version 1.50: you are going to need to seipsptool for this one....To run this program, first download this tool...google it or get it from the link in my sig...once downloaded you should have a ".rar" file, right click on this file and extract to either your Desktop or a folder of your choice, you should have a PSP looking icon...double click on this icon and it will bring up a window, in the first box it will say "Name", you can put in any name that you like(for this one you might want to do JPEG, the second box is named "PBP file"...click on the box next to it that has the 3 dots...then select "from file"...select the "Eboot.pbp" file from the emulator that you wish to load (i.e. jpegviewer only has one "Eboot.pbp file, you will need two, one for jpeg and another for jpeg%)..once selected go to the box below "PBP File" and it will say "PSP Unit", select the drive that your PSP is connected to(if you are just now connecting your PSP you may want to click on the "refresh" button to right of "PSP Unit" box)....then click on "Generate"...then select the firmware you have (1.5=U.S. & 1.0=JAPAN)...this will generate a launcher to your PSP...then just back out of USB mode..and go to the "memory card" icon and click X then go to the icon for JPEG...good luck and let me know how it turns out...i will probably be out for a few days....not feeling good....gonna get some rest...holla ;)

@cupc4kes....what game is it? do they just say that they are a file? if so, change the title from: "name of the game.file"...change it too "name of game.rar01" going down in numerical order for them (i.e. .rar01, .rar02, .rar03...and so on)...do this for ALL of the files, except for the MSinfo document and the .SVF file. ...it should create a RAR file for you, then just extract that RAR file to get the ISO of the game..good luck and let me know how it goes for you...

@sTeVeNGoL...sorry man, you can't run ANY emulators, homebrew, launchers\loaders with THAT firmware, you have to have firmware Versions 1.0 or 1.50...there should be a downgrader on the way so don't get too discouraged...it's only a matter of time...holla ;)

Alfy18...right click on the first file named "wrx-vt.iso" and select "Extract to" and select to put it to your Desktop...once it's done...just move it to the ISO folder on your psp...good luck, and if you have any questions, just ask...holla ;)

@alfy18...that ripkit is if you want to make it smaller...haven't used it, will have to try it out to give you detailed instructions on it...but basically that ripkit SHOULD take out all of the movies and music...i prefer using the originals, even though the ripkits do allow for more space...with the original you get the whole experience...another way of shrinking this game down would be to use the YA umd iso shrinker(google or grab from the my sig)...it will shave off about 40mb for you...good luck, holla ;)

@willsinc...alright man just got through trying that loader...doesn't work, try this though, you are going to need to convert the PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.bin files back to an ISO...then use Fastloader V0.08 to play it plus all other games out(except World Tour Soccer)..here are the guides you need(and you can grab the programs, Fastloader V0.08 and VcdromX from google or from the link in my sig):

VcdromX:
download it and once you extract it...look for an icon called "VcdromX"...(I'm going to use Fifa as an example in this guide) open this file up and a window will pop up on the screen type in "C:\Fifa" and make sure that the "FCD" button is checked...now click the left "??" on the bottom..now go to the folder where you have the "PSP_GAME" and "UMD_DATA.BIN" files\folders and DRAG them over to the right side of the "VcdromX" window...once this is done go to the top left corner and look for a box marked "??F", click on this and then go down to where it says "????(B)" click on this..a window will pop up click "OK"...this will start to convert this file to an ".FCD" file...now once this is done go back to the top left corner and to the "??F" box..this time go down to where it says "??????C"..this will bring up another pop up window click on the folder icon on the top box and go to the C:\ and look for the file labeled "Fifa.FCD"...now click open or double click on that file and it will put that name in the pop up window that showed up...now click on the top right box ( next to the folder looking icon) labeled "??" and it will start to create an iso image file for you...you will have to close this window out because it will stay stuck on 100% once finished..but once it reaches 100% it is ok to close it...

Fastloader V0.08:
Once Downloaded and Extracted to your Desktop, you should have these folders....PSP, UMDEMULATOR, and a Readme.txt...ok first off plug your psp into your computer...now take the "UMDEMULATOR" folder and place it on the Root Directory(the first window that pops up when you plugged in your PSP...also contains the PSP folder), minimize this window....now go back to your desktop and double click on the PSP folder(the one on your computer, NOT the one on your PSP), this should bring up another window that contains the "GAME" folder, double click on this folder and it should contain these folders, "UMDEMULATOR" AND "UMDEMULATOR%"...now highlight both of these folders and right click on one of them and select "Copy"....now go back to the window that you minimized for your psp and once it opens double click on the PSP folder(the one on your PSP), then double click on the Game folder, once this folder opens up, right click on an open space and select "Paste"....now to put an ISO on your PSP...back out of the "GAME" folder and back out once more till you are at the Root Directory again(the one with the PSP folder on it)...and double click on the "UMDEMULATOR" folder...now once folder opens up, double click on the ISO folder...this is the folder where you will place your ISO image files(the games)....now to start a game...once you have installed the Fastloader V0.08(aka UMDEMULATOR) and placed an ISO in the ISO folder(the one in the UMDEMULATOR directory)...now place ANY umd in the slot of your psp and back out of USB mode and go to your Memory Stick icon(the one below the UMD icon) and press X...then select the smiley face with "UMD Emulator" next to it...this should bring up a green screen on your psp with cogs(spikey wheels) in the background...and it should have your ISO listed ...pretty much the same as before...now make sure these settings are listed on screen:
CPU/BUS speed: 222/111 MHz
ISO mode: on
Disctype ISO: game
Disctype UMD: game
Updater icon: remove
Regioncode game: regionfree
Regioncode video: regionfree
Regioncode audio: regionfree
Flash0 emulation: off
Flash1 emulatoni: off

now once the settings are taken care of...select the ISO(game) you want to start to play..press X and it's going to go back to the main menu...now once it has gone back to your main menu(the PSP background screen)...place ANY umd in the slot of your psp wait for the umd icon to appear...now press up on the directional pad and it should bring you to the umd icon...but look at the icon closely, because now it is the ISO you put on your psp..hence the name UMD EMULATOR...now click on it and enjoy...good luck and if you need any help, just ask...holla ;)

I could use some help figuring this out....
I have a few games that are in iso format and they work fine with fastloader. And I have a few games that I have start up different.
For example: I have 2 directories that say common and Ape_game (which I put in my root) and ape and ape% which i put in my psp/game directory. Al the games I have that have to start up this way work ok but I want to convert them to Iso, because I like fastloader better. I have read the forums on how to rebuilt an iso with vcdromx, but with these games I have, there is no UMD_DATA.BIN file!!! Can I use just any UMD_DATA.BIN file? From another game I have? I have games that start up with hookboot. These have the game directory and the umd file. Will it work to convert these to iso?
It works fine now.....Just want to know....Thanx
SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST.....JUST READ THE FORUM RULES :(
