I bought the new SlimLine Ps2 (SCPH 75001) about 3 days ago. I've been searching the net every since i bought my new ps2 for the *perfect* mod solution. Besides the obvious of course, which is buying a mod chip or swap magic/coder. But the hacker in me wouldnt settle for that xD. 3 days or searching brought me to this forum. After reading 4 pages of this forum (compared to endless sites of ps2 modding junk)I've learned to mod my ps2!!! So anyway the point...the point is i've came to 2 conclusions. 1. MasterChu = Very helpful/humble human being *salutes MasterChu* 2. This is a kickass forum, and its all b/c of the people that post here...*Salutes all the noobs and members of forum* I know my lil info is nothing compared to masterchu's but i'ma make an attempt to post something helpful xD
The 2 easiest/quickest way i found to burn a ps2/xbox game.
DVD Decrypter
First, go to Mode>ISO>READ
Select a destination
Then click the decrypt button
Once it has completed reading
go to Mode>ISO>WRITE
Select the file you saved before it should be a .MDS file (thats what it is when i backup PS2 games)
Wait until finish and test in xbox
Alcohol 120%
click next and select a folder for it to be saved in
after it has completed reading click on image burnig wizard
broswe to the folder you saved the file in before and select the file saved (off the top of my head its a .ISO)
and click burn and wait for completion
I hope this lil information helps someone, this forum helped me out alot. *Deep Gratitude* ~Ghost Out~

OK i have a problem now. On the part where you switch the AR Max with a ps2 dvd...well the game media showed ps2 dvd in the left hand corner, but when i pressed X the disc kept spinning it didnt stop. Also it showed *Error: validating disc* or something like that. What could be the problem? Everything else worked, up until this point.

Hi there, i would suggest using the sony writable cd (cd-r, cd-rw, DVD-R, DVD-RW) as i use them and i owwn a complany which is legally licenced to sell copied games. Also these sony cd's are probably made for better compatibillity with sony product for less laser wear and tear. cheers.

I also would DEFINATLY not reccomend takin apart a playstation 2 if you are new to the whole mod hacking theme especially if the warranty becomes voided.

Hi Ghost, it sound like a common problem with dodgy ps2 copied disks. a valubale file located in these disks in order to play properly is missing, so i would suggest getting different copy of the game.

hey all, new to this method but I will be trying it shortly...
First question, can the .ELF file be loaded up from CD-R instead of the USB pen drive OR is that essential?
Thanks..
ddmp-Oh, I think that's the power button's lead that has come lose while you where taking out the core, thus it will slide back in with the gold pins facing the 'thinner side' of the white connector point..hope this helps

Unless your ps2 is modded or chipped then the cd method will work but other wise you need a usb drive. but i dont think you would be on this forum if you ps2 was modded. and i dont reccomend opening your ps2 i suggest just getting it chipped or even buy the swapmagic disks. www.swapmagic.com

Will this method allow u to play imports/JAP/PAL games on my USA ps2. I just wanted to know before I waste dvds. If not, is there any way to play em without swapmagic?

Hey, I've been booting for several days now using my cruzer mini 256mb usb drive, and for an unrelated reason, I can't use it anymore. So i bought a new kingston datatraveller 1gig drive and put cdloader.elf on. But this time instead of mediaplayer reading it, it just says no valid media files on pendrive. I tried several times too. Any ideas?

Everyone says memorex is bad, and i know that, but my dad bought a 100pack 1-16x DVD-R (part#3202-5642), made in taiwan, and its opened so i can't return it. Should use them for backups, or anything for that matter. i've heard about them wearing out the laser, and becoming defective over time, or not working at all, and how they use different manufacturers. I was wondering if someone could tell the manufacturer from what i have described, and if so, what is it. if not, how would i find out. i really can't tell him to return them or that they are "horrible quality" because he bought them just for me when i told him i need more dvd-rs to burn games. anyways, thanks if u guys can help,
Dan.
