the fact that he says you can kazaa on the psp obviously proves he knows nothing
if he did and it were possible, he wouldnt of added 2.7 to the list
and anyway what would be the point
to davey1
look inside your umd try
if you see a sticker on the inside, then your out of look

I read your first post ravenlife (the compressing iso part) and it works! It was so easy! I can't believe I couldn't do it...anyway the point of this post is to thank you for taking the time to make that first post...

Just one "problem", I compressed my NBA Live 06 game from 1.21 GB to 1.16 GB...thats not alot of compression...on torrent websites I see that its as low as like 300 mb and stuff...
Thx, in advance, other than that, it works!
If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...
My Comp: (will add specs later)

that compression method is the best i believe
for two reasons - becasue its so easy
and because its gurateed to work
its not great for ripping loads out of disks
the ones on torrents probably have music and/or movies tipped from them
this for me is not very good - i mean who wants a game with no music?
but you could try ISO Compressor 1.1 from over at psp-hacks.com
compress to cso if your using dev hook
this should give you more compression

Is it possible to add a firmware with your own custom settings?
Because now I have firmware 2.71, but it's loaded in English. That's not such a problem, but I have to activate the .WMA plug every time that I want to listen a .WMA, and I also must create a new connection every time, and with a WEP code, it's very annoying.
So is there a way that I can rip my firmware 2.71 settings of my PSP, and use them in Devhook?

my question is, using devhook 4.2, i can do all that stuff in the og post, but it still won't boot a cso. it just goes right back out to the menu screen of the psp. i use all the settings that the cso comes with but no dice. the only thing i've got working right is freeloader. any ideas?

as to loading custom firmware - sorry mate but youll have to deal - you should really use mp3 anyway or atrac3, rather than wma
as to loading cso's it could be that the iso's require a higher firmware - this tut needs updating (so quick/)
as you can now get 2.6 and 2.7 firmware emulation
or your isos are crap in the first place
have you tried playing them uncompressed
also try the compression method i posted - i know its not great but at least they still work

I have already found some register files who activate the .WMA plugin.. :)
Now I want to learn how this has been done, so I can do this myself for the rest of the aspects that I want to change.

my mobo is fine its IC6001 so no probs on the 'Easy 2.50/2.60 Downgrader' download page it says
'Your PSP CANNOT be a factory 2.50/2.60 PSP! It had to have been updated once before from a previous version or the downgrader will not work, thus a brick'
if i update my factory v2.5 to v2.6 then run 'Easy 2.50/2.60 Downgrader' will this result in bricking my psp or a successful downgrade?
If any people out there that have successflly downgraded a factory 2.5 psp please reply!!

No Ommarussel, if you don't have the TA-82 motherboard, and you update your factory v2.50 to v2.60, you can downgrade without a bit of fear.

Hi,
I have tried downdating and i have had trouble with the loader thing.
My cousin has helped me with the downdating and when the gta loader thing came up the psp freezes, none of the buttons work (the screen doesnt turn black, it stays on the loader)
It works fine with my cousins psp and he thinks it could be my jammed select button?
I have a jammed select button which presses itself when i use the keyboard, but in a game that uses the select button it doesnt press itself it's just not usable.
Could the select button be the reason for the freezing?
Thanks

Hey I gotta question, I have a few ISO's most specifically, "ield Ommander,"
and It takes 2.6 to run, and these isos arent workign with devhook. I was wondering if anyone had any tips, maybe for "ield ommander" in specific. (BTW i have 1.5 fw)
now i used the new Devhook all in one loader package, the whole package where you pick the firmware version and etc from 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 etc, and Im trying to run these 4 ISOs that i got on my 4gb memory stick, and it aint working. the psp restarts into the firmware 2.71, or 2.6, and the iso just doesnt load. The psp doesnt fubar, and i can still hit menu button and junk and go to menu, but i load the iso and All it does is allow me to see which of my pixels are dead. lol.
So the thing is, I got one of the four ISOs (lord of the Ringos, its a beatles game) and it works just fine with this devhook thing. Its just these other three. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for if Devhook is to blame, the firmware flashing or something, or maybe my isos are fubar.
sorry to be a noob, but thanks for the help.
