With the proper equipment--program and a good PC you can read the key numbers that the sat providers are sending down in the encryption stream with the signal.
Jerry
I mean how do they know what letter or number they have to change?
The software program reads the NEW numbers in the signal. All that is needed is to compare the NEW to the OLD and see if just 1 digit/letter changed or the complete sequence. This sort of has to do with re-programing CARDS but the keys are also needed for FTA receivers. This is a short version explanation but should give you the basic idea.

Open keymaster - it will show 1,2,3 and 4.
Select any #.
The nwait for the screen to change and you will see 'Retrieve Keys' or something similiar.
Click on that and wait for keys to be retrived.
Right now it doesn't work well because with everyone trying to retrieve at the same time, overloads everything and you end up with page cannot be displayed. The only downfall of this program.
Great when it works. Just keep trying every 5 minutes if this happens. Eventually you'll hit a gap when it's less active and you'll get in.
Good Luck

The only change in the code was in the line (96) or line 20 in the expressvu screen.
The 1st 2 characters were changed.
0E was changed to 4B - everything else was the same.

No problem - I have 2 boxes setup.
1 box can on in 20 seconds, the other took about 10-12 minutes.
Don't know why.

Hello Jerry - You have anymore info on the how-to's on retrieving new codes?
I'd be interested in learning more and getting setup to do it myself.

hey guys i'm a newbie to this stuff, but i managed to get my Viewsat xtreme connected and up and running, my question is:
is there a bin i can load that will allow the viewsat to pick up the keys ...ie: autoroll, at the moment i'm having to manually input the keys, and recently it seems like they are rolling them pretty damn often!
any help is much appreciated!
And Jerry, thanks for the great info in this thread, been getting the keys from that like you posted! very helpful!

Hi All,
I have only had my Satellite for less then a week (Viewsat Ultra). When I go under NAGRA I have four different BEV option 080100 090100 090500 and 080500.... and under each BEV option I have four Lines of Keys:
08
09
88
89
Which Lines do I put the keys in? I have input keys into all four BEV and key 86 or(00) into 08 and 88 and 96 (01) into 09 and 89.
I have turned off "auto roll" but its still not working. Do I need to upload new file into my reciever. I have the 070801 file currently installed. If I havent explained it well then i appologise. Please help!!
Hansi.
