I haven't completely backed mine up yet (just got it onto the HD) but what I noticed is there are two files for the main movie. I would think that one of these has commentary and the other would not... it seems somehow you may have selected the wrong one to back up. I will not be able to complete mine until Thursday night at the earliest, sorry I couldn't be more help.

Does anyone know how to copy the movie Deja Vu, I bought a copy and would like to back it up. I tried Shrink DVD, DVD Fab Decriptor, DVD Decriptor, RipIt4me, and none of them will rip the movie. My AnyDVD is out of trial period and I can't afford to purchase it right now, same with Fab DVD Platnium and Gold.

Any DVD and Clone DVD 2 will copy DE'JA' Vu. When you select the main movie mode and select the vts_folder ensure to uncheck the the first main movie check for backing up and check the second main movie for backing up. The first main movie is the one that has the director's comment ane other crap that you don't want. Title two or main movie two is the one you want.

According with the duration of the movie as per in the box,I think that the movie should be in title one if I recall right.
I remember that there were 2 main titles, and I think that I went for the title 1.
I'll check the movie, and then post again.

the movie without directors cuts is the second file (title 1) @ 2:05 duration.

edit: corrected minutes in movie duration

I have experienced a problem with Deja Vu when using Rip it 4 me. If I don't cleand the VOBs vts_04_01 won't read with DVD Shrink. If I do I see the directors commentary in the file.

Any suggestions on getting this successfully backed up?

I've done it with ripit4me with no problems.
Make sure you select the right title, because there are 2 main titles,ok?
I watched the backed up movie yesterday, and about 3/4 of the movie,it froze for about a couple of seconds, and then continued as nothing happened.
Great movie!!!loved it.

Using ripit4me What steps did you take to select the right main title? I am unsure of where I can do this.

Thanks for the Help!!!

I almost always use Re-author,then drag the file(Main title)from the right to the left.
In the Deja Vu movie, select the title that has 2 hours duration.

Deja Vu was no problem for AnyDVD and Nero Recode. Just do the 2hr 6min title and it'll go smooth. I'm sure CloneDVD will also do it. Good movie and it played without flaws.
