as much as i know jedi knight academy has no copy-protection. so you could simply make a copy with nero for example withut any special settings. if it is protected, detect its protection wih clonyxxl and use a guide of this forums to burn it.
Hey Ive been trying to get Jed to work also, installed fine and I tried with blindwrite the bin/cue fils to cdr-w, but no luck keeps asking for first disc. If anyone has gotten this to work can u explain how please, Im newbie at this too, Do i need just cue files on cdr or both cue and bin? Thanks
I would imagine ... if JKIII had any protection at all it would be SecureROM.... of course I dont know for certain. But you can use ClonyXXL to find out. ClonyXXL is pretty much the de-facto basic cd protection scanner and allows users to determine the protection scheme used on a game. For ClonyXXL to work properly, one needs to have a properly installed ASPI layer (for more information regarding ASPI, see http://cd-rw.org/articles/archive/aspisetup.cfm). ClonyXXL can be downloaded from http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/clonyxxl.cfm or http://www.clony.smokers-board.de/ For information on how to Burn SecuROM and in particular, SecuROM 4.83: (using Alcohol120) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43802 (using CloneCD) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/26771
ok i checked out the database of they say that JD3 has only got cd-checks, which means that the game checks if the cd is in your drive. however, cd-checks protected cd is very easy to burn, as much as i know. i think downloading alcohol120% from www.alcohol-software.com and reading the cds with cd-checks and burning it that way should be enough. if you need more help concerning burning games with alcohol go here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/20980

Ohhhhh got it Jedi Academy - Europe/Aus Safedisc 2.90.040 Jedi Academy - U.S. SecuRom - 4.84.84.0020 i thought the world was over ?_?
Well I'll be damned... well... maybe not but... for some reason JKIII just doesnt 'feel' like a SafeDisc game to me hehe
To burn JKIII, I used Alcohol 120% and it made a 1:1 copy Just set it to SafeDisk 2 protection it may take a while (2 hours) but it's worth it. My system specs: CPU: Athlon XP 2600+ Memory: 512MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM (333Mhz) 80GB Western Digital 8MB 7200RPM HDD Graphics: GeForce 4 Ti4200 AGP 8x 128MB DDR Burner: Sony CRX 160E 12x8x32
It shouldn't take this long m8. Be sure that you use your Sony CRX 160E 12x8x32 as "reader" and that skip read errors is enabled when using Alcohol 120%. The Safedisc cd protection lies within the first 1-10,500 sectors of the cd (about 3%)and "pre-gap" found within 1-150 sectors, but after that smooth sailing. So the backup plays ok in your dvd\cd-rom flawlessly? Shoey
