Is there any way to makeup a back up disc for jedi academy without any need for drive emulation or any emulation of any kind? is it possible to just take the burned copy and go and put it on my son's computer and play with him??? thanks everyone...your always a big shoulder to lean on...lol
Specifically what you are talking about is stripping the protection from the game (which is against forum rules for discussion). Besides, if you make a proper duplicate the first time you shouldnt have to worry about anything... of course the sticking factor may be if you have a 1-sheep burner. Of course if you grab yourself either DaemonTools (free) or Alcohol you can mount virtual cds complete with emulation and have the game run fine (you only need to set the emulation once so it shouldnt be too big a hassle). ===== DaemonTools, a FREE virtual drive allows you to mount CD Images and emulate various major protection schemes. This means that you can play a protected game even if it is still in a BIN/CUE or ISO format on your harddrive. It is a standard program used to backup games with numerous forms of protection. For more info visit http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/alcohol120.cfm
Yes it's possible but no guarentee Simply burn the SecuROM "play" protected cd by using BlindWrite Suite or CloneCD\Twinpeak Tool. If successful, your backup may or may not "spin up" in your son's pc. If it doesn't then you choose a different reader to create a bwa file and burn again. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/26771 http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43802_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Certified Computer Technician http://www.afterdawn.com/general/legal.cfm Mobo: MSI KT4VL-6712 CPU: AthlonXP Barton 2500+ Ram: 512 SD-DDR (PC-2700) nVidia GeForce4 MX440-8x Maxtor ATA\133 80 gig hd DVD-ROM: LiteOn LTD 165H CDRW: Memorex52MAXX 2452[/small]
