Im having a problem accessing a big BIN/CUE file (788mb). I don't have a DVD burner so I was wondering if there was any other way to access the file.

    1. You can just burn it on a cd dude. Since its 788MB i would imagine it is a VCD? If so it will be no problem at all to burn it.
    2. If you just want to use the BIN as a file, grab yourself DaemonTools, Alcohol, Paragon CD Emulator, Nero6, etc (order listed in order of suggested preference)
    3. If you want to access the files stored in the cd image, grab yourself CDMage, ISOBuster, WinISO, UltraISO, etc.

CDMage is an extremely poweful (and free) utility that allows for all sorts of manipulation with almost any type of CD Image. With CDMage, you can scan a BIN/CUE for errors and corruption, fix any corruption found (remember to make a backup first!) as well as extracting data from CD Images and creating CUE files from BIN files. You can download CDMage from http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/frames.html

To extract data from CD Images using CDMage, first open the image using CDMage (or drag-n-drop). Note that you have to correctly select the input parameters in order to open it (trial and error will suffice). Once the image is opened, goto the file(s) you want to extract, right click and select 'Extract Files...' provide the destination you want to extract to and whatever settings you desire and click 'Extract'

Alcohol120 is the stable of many a protection backup. It is a standard program used to backup games with numerous forms of protection. For more info visit http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/alcohol120.cfm

DaemonTools, a FREE virtual drive allows you to mount CD Images and emulate various major protection schemes. This means that you can play a protected game even if it is still in a BIN/CUE or ISO format on your harddrive. For more information visit http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/daemon_tools.cfm

ISOBuster, another common CD Image manipulator and utilitiy allows users to extract files from within CD Images as well as specify the format in which they want to extract them. ISOBuster also allows you to create a directory structure listing also. For more information visit http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/isobuster.cfm, http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/ or http://www.isobuster.com/

Paragon CD Emulator is an excellent and thoroughly integrative (if that's even a word) virtual cd/dvd drive solutions. Even though it does not offer copy protection emulator or some of the fancier features found on other cd-emulators, Paragon's entry allows for as many virtual drives are you desire. Very stable and easy to use, pay a visit to http://www.cdrom-emulator.com

WinISO is a common program to extract CD information into a ISO (also known as ISO 9660 format). The ISO format, as the name designates is an internationally known format and can be used in any burning application that supports image burner (although this is no longer really a major issue as most burning programs support multiple types of image formats, notably the BIN/CUE format). A nifty feature about WinISO is its ability to allow you to convert various image formats to either BIN/CUE or ISO. This is very useful when you may come across a CDI file or NRG file and forget (or dont have) what program is associated with it. To find out more about WinISO visit http://www.winiso.com/

Yet another highly functional cd image manipulator/viewer, pay a visit to http://www.ultraiso.com for more information.

To extract data from a CD Image using ISOBuster, first open the image (or drag-n-drop). Then select the file(s), right-click and select either "Extract <filename>" or "Extract Objects". Specify the destination you want to extract to and click OK/Save. (You can get ISOBUster from http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/isobuster.cfm)

To extract from a CD Image with WinISO, first open (or drag-and-drop) a supported CD Image with WinISO, select the file(s) you wish to extract, right click, select "Extract" and specify a destination and extract away.To check to see if your BIN/CUE has errors in it, first open the image with CDMage, goto the Action menu and Select 'Scan for Corruption'. Should errors be found you then have the option of fixing such corruption. Please make a backup of your image prior to correcting any corruption as the correction process may make the rest of the image worse off. Also note that anything that is worse than a 'slight' error should be taken seriously - even if CDMage manages to 'correct' those errors, make sure you test thoroughly afterwards.
