I know there has been a topic before about that codec but the answers did not help me at all. I've also downloaded an AVI movie and I tried several divX codecs separated but nothing worked. Now I downloaded DivX Pro Codec together with DivX Player from this website, and also the div3 codec. I have Windows XP, might that be the reason why it doesn't work? Cuz I microsoft did not recommend me installing it cuz of the compatibility or whatever. So anyway when I try to play the movie with windows media player 9 it says that I need Tag 2000 for the audio and if I play it with divX player it says I need Tag 8192 for the audio. PLEASE HELP ME :'(__X_X_X_X_X_[small]-JAZ-[/small]
download GSpot program (jus click the word) and see wat codecs u need to resolve the problem im suggesting ac3filter_0_66b.exe download this im assuming that the audio issue will be resolved by this http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ac3filter/ac3filter_0_66b.exe?use_mirror=cesnet however, download the xvid codec and install it it will not cause conflict with your istalleddivx codecs as its the same company and divx is xvid spelt backwards http://nic.dnsalias.com/XviD_Install.exe then reply and tell me if it is fixed or still causing problems ok
OMG WOOOHOOO IT WORKED!!! I simply downloaded the second link, and also GSpot, I LOVE YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE! lol *hugs and kisses ya* still a question though...can I uninstall divx pro codec adware, GSpot and divx mpeg4 again without causing any further problems? So that I actually just need the AC3 Filter?
well u say u downloaded from the second link is that the xvid codec or the ac3 filter ?? if i were u i would right click ym .avi file and select 'properties' and then wen the page displays select the "summary" tab and see if there is any mention of divx if there isn't then u dont need the adware installed however, uninstalling it will jus prevent you from watching other films i would leave it on if u ask me (unless u are sooo short of HDD space that u need it) Gspot u can uninstall but again i dont see the reason too coz it is sucha helpful program at the end of the day if u uninstall the wrong thing jus install it again and it will work if it doesn't i think i have enuff tricks up my sleeve to sort you out ok lovej so peace thanx for the + feedback im a real sucker for positive feedback lOnDoN_MeWx

There is a no adware version of the divx 5.1 codec if you still want to install it. Hmmmm....I think the first clue to lovej being a girl was this: LOL!
