CD/DVD Rom Isnt Detecting Any Cds.

I'm Having Lite-On DVDRW ShW-160H6S ... i cant detect any cd i put it ... can any1 help me i can see from the device manager the device is working. but it cant detect ? ... i can also see E drive on my computer ... pls help

Hi, Well my first reccomendation is to always "google" for the problem. I want to point out a personal experience with a Similar Drive, it perfectly read DVD's but it never read a single CD. I tried in different computers, and well I figure it out it was a Defective drive, so I had to change it. but before you do so, remember if possible testing on other computers, and if you could provide with more information from your drive: like how much time had you been using it, and does it perfectly read any kind of DVD's, and does this probblem happened suddenly?.

 

my drive is dvd/cd drive ... it just happen awhile ago.i could even double click E drive without a disc inside my cd reader..... and u want me to post an ss of nero's drive ? ...

Hi, again well I think your next move should be to try (if possible) your drive on another computer, to discard any software or incompatibility problems. Remember as I said before to google for the problem. Maybe your drive went faulty, my old burner which I used really really often, just one day died, so maybe you were unlucky enough for that to happen, but just to make sure try your drive or another computer.

 

Try this:
Go into your Device Manager, and find your drive. Right click on it, and choose "Uninstall". After it uninstalls, reboot, and let Windows detect new hardware, and install new a driver for you.
