    Hi all,

This is my first post here. I recently picked up a couple of Star View boxes (for myself & my father)

After entering the new codes (released last week) I'm still having problems. When I hover over a channel (beyond the usual unscrambled ones) I STILL get the bad or scrambled channel message.

I've double checked the new codes (in both lines 00 + 01) - they are correct. Yet my box is not updating.

I tried a fresh installation - ie auto tune to NTL - 39 channels were found after 100% search.

    Am I missing something?!

    Thanks in advance

go into the secret menu and the last option you will see is emu. if its off then the channels will remain scrambled.

No joy I'm afraid - turned the EMU on - same business.

Here's the current codes I have entered

    (00)
    3BD5B14A53E0716C
    (01)
    CBC9BBA11F39FF86

Tried another installation scan on the NTL network - now showing ZERO channels- ?!!

    I'm lost!

Yes, they were already saved since last Friday when I entered them. I saved both lines - ie save when 00 is shown and when 01 are visible (to be safe!)

Still no signal / channels showing?!

you could try flashing the starview with version 3.00 firmware. when you have it on go into secret menu and press set default key. then reflash to 255 or 257 as the v3.00 causes channels to freeze.

Apologies again, I'm unfamiliar with flashing, do I need to download firmware and transfer it to the box or can I do it within the menu as a standalone operation?

you need to download the latest firmware version 3.00 and the gtrom loader v4.00. you will need a null modem cable to connect your starview to the pc.

I understand they are correct, for some reson my box is still not unscrambling channels...!

    History:

A fortnight ago, bought the box, install fine - all channels working fine... NTL change codes - re-enter new ones - turn EMU on...

    NOTHING now...

    Apologies, missing this -

    How do I proceed...?
    Download firmware from where?
Then do I just bring the box to the PC and connect?
I would have thought a usb connection to the box would have been easier!

    Sorry - new to me!
