I just finished installing mIRC an flling in the Name/Email/Nickname in the options menu.

I now wish to set up a Channel with my nickname.

Befor i do this i know i need to Register my Nickname, but when i try it says;

nickserv That nickname does not exist.

the codes state i must type;
/nickserv register password emailaddy

but when i do it that way it says unknown command,
so i try doing it my way an put
/msg nickserv register password emailaddy

an still the same thing,
nickserv That nickname does not exist.

Is there a new way of doing this, or how can i bypass this problem??
