starview password lost, 1668 not doing it

hi, hope someone can help me. I've lost the password and i tried 1668 on the only option available to me - 'factory settings' but to no avail. i am looping around a few menues main menu, languages, etc but cant get out, anyone any ideas ? thanks in advance

 

press menu
press parental control
select change pin code
enter 1668
pick a new code and you should now be able to go anywhere.

 

thanks, but the parental control, and edit channel options have been disabled, the cursor just hops over them, the only obvious place to put in a code is 'factory settings' and none of the codes work there. i appreciate your help thanks

 

You may have to flash new firmware on to the starview. What firmware are you using now.

To find out press menu and go to system information and press ok.

 

It seems that no channels are saved. You have to do an installation scan. Once the scan is done those options will be available.

hi, thank you both, i scanned as suggested, and yes i managed to put in new password, i now have all the menus etc, and the channells are there is even program info. but still no tv, i'm getting info- data being updated etc but nothing happens am i going to have to flash etc joan

 

You need to input the new keys in the nagravision menu.

let me know who you cable provider is and i will let you know how to do this.

 

ps i have done the input new key data on the nagravision screen before but is there a new set of data for the key data fields?

 

you still haven't told me which cable provider keys you need. they were upsated last friday.
