Hi Guys,

You all seem to know your onions so to speak

I'm a novice. I bought my Nokia D-box from a friend but my channels seem to be dwindling.

I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire and I wondered if anyone could send me an "idiots Guide" so to speak of how to get all or more channels.

If I don't get it "fixed" my kids say i'm a dead man

Ermmmmm..don't ask me complicated questions or if you do plz explain how to get the info

I have a D-box Nokia, Sportster-pro....... how i get the other info plz?..... sorry for being dumb

 

On you remote push the D box Button
Then service
Then scan for services or service scan
And report back wot it says in there from Top to Bottom..paul

Reload channel List
Reload Plug in List
Restart Neutrino
Display Unicodes
Image update/Backup/restore

 

Ok wot does it say for channel scan and we will rescan
Again from top t bottom
Who was your service provider b 4 vig*n

 

Not sure what vig*n means

My service provider was NTL

Ok On Chanel scan it says:

Back
Save/Activate settings
Scan for services (all settings)
Bouquet (update existing)
Cable provider (Cable uk Sym 6887)
Fast Scan (Off)
Manual scan (Off)
FEC (1/2)
Polorisation (H)

 

They seem to be the right settngs for that image
I would Bow k save or leave existing
And re scan if tis dont get all channels back
we will have to reflash a new image

I'm rescanning. How long do you think it will take?

 

On sportster pro about 20 mins
ll the new images about 4 mins
Update your image mate
Ile go through it with you tomorrow ............paul

Yer no probs with the help mate
Cable uk Sym 6887) try changing to 6952 and scan
or Bruitforce and scan lets know mate....paul

If you have no luck pm me your E mail addy and ile send you all you need to get the box up to date
You will need to buy a cross over cable and ile help you through it
Am off out tonight But will keep an eye on the Forum ......paul

I have an error message which states the following:

! Error
No channels were found.
Please copy your services.xml and bouquets.xml.
Or execute a scan using 1.73 ultra mode.
Blue button.
Cryogenic/Sportster menu.
Sportster mode menu.
Sportster 1.73 ultra mode.
Then after the dbox reboots...
dbox button -> service menu -> channel scan

Cancel

It often refers to coloured buttons but my remote doesn't have any coloured buttons!

I scanned on 6952 and most of the channels have come up, i have about 8 movies and Sky sports 2 & 3 but no 1 :-(

Thanks for your help and at least I have Nick Jnr etc for the kids

No probs John I bet you thourght ide left you high and dry
I think you will find that you do have the missing channels
Sky sports 1 all thes channels will be found in a bow k
Called Others ....Or Unsorted ....... Or Andrea
But they will deffo be there
Any help you need or any programs you want Just shout
Let me know if you dont find sky sports 1 coz thats a must to have
