If dual format players are released, how can there be a winner? Really,

Who wants a winner?, If we can have the best of both formats ;). like DVD+R or DVD-R there is no winner, we only have dual format drives that give us the possibility to choose which ever format we like best.

Considering that dual format players cost more than buying one Blu-ray player and one HD-DVD player seperately, I do not see the value. I much rather see one format completely dominate the other and wipe the other one's existance out.

This will not lead to monopony since this is one of those businesses where there is a lot of economies of scale and there are a lot of competitors.
