Yeah I use DVDFab even after I changed to DMA mode on the drives it takes forever to decrypt a one. Example I could go on a 100 mile walk (not that i would) and come back and it might be about 10% done. It is a lengthy movie but thats just horrible. Anyone know how to speed it up?? I download the lastest DVDFab too. I have done other movies in the past within 20 mins. Any help please

    Hey Detech69,

I also use DVDFab and found something out. Occasionally DVDFab would take forever, and I noticed that my hardrive was not being accessed (it's normally solidly lit when DVDFab runs). I fould out that DVDFab was having trouble reading a spot on the disk. I've found its best for me if I clean the disk before trying to rip. I first clean the disk with alcohol, wiping from the center out, then I clean again with window cleaner to remove any film. Usually this works. I have had to clean disks several times before I get a good scan.

One thing I did in DVDFab is go under Common settings (the cog in the upper right), select "read", chage retry to 1 or 2 and skip sectors to 6. This way DVDFab gives me an error, allowing me to stop the scan.

If I still have problems, I then change the type of rip from DVD files to building an ISO file.

If all of this doesn't work, you might have a bad disk that you are trying to rip.
