nothing on cd after "successful burn"

Nero says Successful burn, but when I check the disk, it is blank. What gives? I tried XP's burn feature, BAO, EasyCD Creator, nothing works.

It's as if it's only simulating burning. But I burned without simulation.

I used to be able to burn with minimal problems with my writer (AOpen CRW3248 firmware 1.10)

I use Ritek CDRs (my drive used to be able to burn them as long as I use 8x) on WinXP.

By the way, I only have one burn software installed at a time. I have also tried different firmware. My ASPI layer is 4.6.

My writer is not that old, though it's passed its warranty by about 2 months. I only use it once or twice a month. Please help.

    Thanks a lot.

    hi all

yes its seems odd? have you changed media? since the last good burn? even ones you used can be a duffo batch! (been there!)

i think but dont quote me that easy cd creator has issues? concerning conflicts! and i think its this one when its installed if you uninstall it (its not gone!) you need a program from the site to get the other program off?

i use aspi layer 4.72 the latest!

Thx - stink with it more people will help out here!

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes I did change media. Same result. Also, the problem started even before EasyCD Creator was installed.

I'm beginning to fear that it's a hardware problem. Is it possible that the lens of my writer has become misaligned? If so, would i be able to align it myself and how?

    Many thanks again.

Hi, this might sound stupid but I have run into the same problem with certain burners. If you have another CD-rom drive try reading the burned cd in that and or another computer. If it shows up there you know it's probably either your cdrw hardware or your OS. If it doesn't see any data it could be the burning software. Some burners don't like to read data they burned or become that way over time, not sure why. Good luck.
