I'm a newbie. I was able to burn a dvd to svcd perfectly. But now my question is to burn my second time around what files need to be erased. I am guessing the vob files need to be erased and maybe some others. I don't want to erase things I will need for the next burn. Could someone please put me on the right track in laymens terms. I appreciate it, thanks.

May I ask what program you used? Did you burn the "image" of a dvd and convert to svcd, then burn? or rip a dvd (ifo file+ vob files), then convert svcd, then burn? To answer your question in short, don't delete the ifo file and the vob files m8

I used dvd2svcd program. Then Iput the bin & cue files in daemon. Then I used nero to burn. I made a svcd on 2 cd-r's and it works perfectly in my standalone dvd player. But now I would like to do another movie. So do I have to remove the old movie and files? And if so, which ones.

I'm confused..... you want to burn another SVCD ... of a different movie... wouldnt you just delete the first movie and everything to do with it, rip & encode the second movie and burn them? Like the two movies dont really have much in common aside from the basic set of SVCD files that Nero provides anyways.

Well was the program DVD2SVCD? (orange smiley face icon with a big smile).

Again, DVD2SVCD will create bin& cue file format after one rips the dvd movie (ifo file and vob files), then encodes with Cinema Craft Encoder, Canopus ProCoder or TMPEnc Plus. I have a guide on How to backup DVD 2 SVCD (using CCE) and will post (if needed).

I don't think anyone got what I was asking. Or I didn't elaborate enough. But to anyone concerned. If you are using DVD2SVCD, after a movie is created and burned. You can delete the entire movie folder in DVD2Svcd. It will create a new one for the next movie. This is a must before your next convert and rip!
    CHEERS!!!

Well if you go this route m8, you can delete every file(especially vobs) with the exception the bin& cue files if you wan't to play the backup with Daemon Tools(virtual stealth drives).
