Utorrent ISO file won't play on DVD player after burned..

I have tried and tried to burn this movie that I downloaded from Utorrent and it WILL NOT work. I have run it through DVDecrypter, DVDshrink, DVDfab, etc. I have checked to make sure it was in NTSC and not PAL, I have tried everything I know of, but it just won't play. I even downloaded another random movie to see if it would work, but no go. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to fix this?
The only player it seemed to work on was my old dvd player, but even then there was no sound and it was in black and white. Any ideas?

Does the burned disk play ok on the PC?
What program was used to burn the disk at what speed on which brand of media. Was there a log file.
A (region free, download)PAL disk will play ok on a PC and is often B&W on an NTSC standalone player.

Yes, it will play on a PC. I used DVDecrypter to burn the disc. It is set to burn as fast as it will allow.. but I burn plenty of movies with it like it is and they all play fine.

I believe 8x is the max burn speed on that program.

ok on the right side under where the pics/s Frames/s Fields/s are the I/L TFF and PAL are lit green.. so i'm assuming that it is in PAL. I thought that DVDshrink or something would convert that.. is there a way I can convert it to NTSC and make it play?

Looks like you need to select VTS_03_1 through VTS_03_5 from the folder.
The program will convert the video to NTSC and output the files to a new folder and you can use whatever method you normally use to burn the disk (DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter??)

    http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe
Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)

Thanks! I really appreciate the help. One other question.. it puts the files into a divxtodvd folder, so can I just burn that VIDEO_TS folder? Or do I have to add the BUP and IFO files to it?

All the required files will be in the new VIDEO_TS folder.
Open with DVD Shrink and burn with DVD Decrypter.

It didn't work.. but I just burned the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero.. I didn't run it through DVDshrink.. I don't see where that would matter though. This makes no sense at all.

So you are saying that an output folder was created.
Could you click on the largest file and get it to playback ok?
Did you check the output with 'GSpot' to see if it was NTSC?
But when you tried to open the folder with Shrink, it gave an error?

output file was created, It played fine on PowerDVD, I went ahead and burned it with dvdecrypter. I didn't bother to run it through dvdshrink because it's already small enough to fit on a single disc. I didn't check the format because I figured it had converted it and I didn't need to.

of course now that I check it.. it says it's still in PAL. What is going on with this damn thing?? My dvd player is SUPPOSED to be region free as well.

Must have "Set 'Standard' to NTSC ".

The region free part does not refer to the video standard.
Although Japan and North America both use NTSC, they are in different regions as far as the movie industry is concerned - it stops you buying disks from another region.

GSpot indicates the DVD files are PAL, even after conversion?
If so, download something like 'ConvertXtoDVD' and try that.
