Ubuntu not booting

    Hey guys I have a compaq presario sr1120nx and am trying to switch to linux. I downloade ubuntu(32 bit as I am using a celeron D processor). My system is powerfull enough to run it but I am stuck on one screen. Ubuntu just stays on this screen.

    you should try is burning the iso again but on a lower speed. sometimes bootable cds have trouble starting when burned at a higher speed

    I burned at the lowest speed I could.

    i think there is an option to boot into a safe mode or failsafe on the cd. boot into that and see if you still have this problem

    Thats didn't work. I tried the alternate installer that didn't work either.

    if you have any other computers in you house try to load up the live cd. then we can find out if it is a problem with the cd or the computer. i

    Sorry, only one PC. Although I did try Suse inux and it just reboots after I try to install it, same with the 6.06 version of Ubuntu. I am guessing it's a hardware problem. Thanks for all the help. :)

    Hey I got it working. I just had to adjust the VRAM settings in my BIOS.
