modem help...

    i have crappy sprint/embarq dsl..which SUCKS..I have been thru 12 dsl modems so far..SO, I bought a d-link dsl-2540B..I cant get it to work with my ISP..Anyone have any ideas or changed modems like this?

    I know the feeling, been there done that. Which ISP do you use? Have you checked D-Link's website to see if it's compatible? AOL for example only support certain routers, but bad luck if you use AOL anyway.

    aol? ha..i wouldnt have aol for anything..i have sprint/embarq as i said above. And yes the modem is compatible..mine's just possessed.

    Have you asked your ISP for the correct VPI/VCI settings and so on?

    yeah..sprint doesnt like it when you tell them that the equipment is crap..theyre "not allowed" to give that out..so im told..

    What on earth? As far as I was aware, they had to. Have a scan through their Terms & conditions and make a fuss.
