a deleted xbox hd

I was having a error 21 problem and a friend of mine was messing around with my xbox and ftping stuff and the next thing I knew my hd is completely empty.I tried using the xboxhdm tool from one of the threads here but when I try to enter option 1-3 it does nothing only option 4 will work what am I supossed to do
any help would be great

 

what did your freind do to it? i accedently flashed my bios and fucked my xbox!!!

 

you could download xboxhdm from a different source and make a new disk and see if it works, and if that fails you can do a hotswap, search for a tutorial.

 

When I try to do a hotswap a message comes up (can't reconize or can't find dev/hda) and that's as far as I can get

 

try unplugging the ide cable right when the led dlashes red the first time.

 

o k I'll give it a try but if it want work will a hard mod fix it? thinking about getting one anyway
