Hi all, My Panasonic E85H DVD Recorder got stuck in the "Self Check" reboot cycle - a DVD was in the drive at the time. I could not eject the disk, even after trying all the different "emergency" button combinations to eject it. I popped open the cover and removed the disk manually, however it now refuses to turn on. No lights at all, no buttons will produce any result - the unit acts as if it was unplugged... Can anyone help? Note: It almost seems as if there was a "case opened" micro switch that stops the unit from being turned on until a special key combo is pressed...wishful thinking perhaps? Cheers, Chris
Hi Chris - the same problem has just happened to my Panny, the DMR E55EB. It also has a disk in it and it just keeps self checking. Did you manage to get yours repaired and any advice on how to remove the disk safely. Anyone else out there know or can advise whether this is an expensive repair. The unit is just under three years old Thanks Groucho
