Hey, I got a Prob. that I need help with.

My 'Legal' copy of Halo 2 is givin' me an error about the game not seein my disc. I think it's somethin' to do with the loader and the .dll files i got for it; so that it could run on Xp. every time i get to the part were the "Master Chief" steps out the elevator with people clapping (which is at the beginning of the game) My game gives me that Error.

If any one has any ideas of how to fix this so i can play, any thing would be great.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Put the modified MF.DLL for Vista that was 4kb into you're H2 folder (hopefully you know what I', talking about). Then take the version of MF.DLL that came with the WoWLoader and place it in you're WINDOWS\sytem32 folder (C:\WINDOWS\system32) and start the game. It should now hopefully play until the level Gravemind (I think the 10th level). No one has been able to pass that level because of the orig disc error.

Ya I think I've done that already. but I don't know (are you talking about the MF.DLL file that came wit the WOWLoader.) if not let me know. also I got Win. XP Pro x64 which has the SysWOW64 folder. and I thought that, that is like a SYSTEM32 folder for XP x64. so the question is, should I put the MF.DLL file in the SysWOW64 folder as well . . .

Oww, and about the tenth level "no disc error". I have seemed to be able to play the game by renaming every level after the first one, the same as the first one, so I can go in the game open the select level screen and select the first level and it will Play the level I renamed, then I play till my hearts content. thing is you have to exit the game after every level is played and rename the next level. But, don't leave the last level you played the same name or you will have magor complications (Personal Experience). Also Don't rename a map file without COPYING it first.

To do the Renaming you go into the Map folder in your Halo 2 Directory, Copy any Singleplayer Campiagn map (of your choice) to a location else where, then copy the name of the one called 01b_spacestation.map and paste that name onto the one you copied,(not its copied counterpart but the Orig.), you need to also move the 01b_spacestation.map file to another location as-well so they won't both be read by the game.

And there you have it. open the game go to select level and select the "Cairo Station" Level and start playing. yes I know that that is not the first selection level but it is the level were you actually start fighting (close enough). But Still as you can see it takes a lot to get to play a level. that is what i've been doing. I wish I din't have to. That is why I wanted a diferent way to play the levels.

Oww, Great . . . About a half an hour past that last post I Figured that I should try putting the MF.DLL in the SysWOW64 folder. It Worked!! I played the "First" Level, "Cairo Station" but it won't let me play the next level. My PC doesn't have an internet connection and it says that I have to activate in order to play any further. i guess I am Back to the Drawing board on Ideas.

    STILL NEED HELP!!!

By the way I am useing someone elses PC. In case your woindedring how I started the Thread.

To get past activation there is a little "crack" if you want to call it that, allowing you to pass the activation warning/message. I'm thinking it shouldn't be discussed here, so if you want it just ask me to PM you.

ya . . . um . . . what!? PM me? sorry I'm not familiar with all the abbreviations, so if ya could just simplify what you said that'd be great.

Anyway . . . It'd be great if you could get that "(fix)" for the activation. then I'd apreciate it.

Also, I got another question about another game should I start a new Thread? . . .

I'm getting the same error, everytime it tries to start the cairo mission I get the insert original disc error. I'm using xp pro 64 bit edition and I've copied the mf.dll which is 4kb into the halo 2 folder and the 32kb version into the system32 folder and the sysWOW64 folder but still no luck. What am I doing wrong?
