good wmv splitter?

I like the one from Boilsoft called avi/mpeg/wmv splitter. But it does not split an 8.3 gig file evenly. I select split into 2 equal parts and 1 part is 3.7 gig and the other 4.6. I need it split so each part will fit on a dvd. I'm splitting a hd wmv movie to watch on my xbox 360. The 360 won't play an 8 gig file so I can't burn it to a dvd dl disc either.
I want to maintain the quality as well. Any suggestions? O and I tried using the boilsoft software with "split by selection" but that just locks up the software.
