thanks a lot, tho i havnt got it working lol, what is a jumpered cs or Cable select, i am using a HDD cable to connect it- my bios doesnt have eide or ide - says sata 1,2,3,4 number 4 says not detected- in bios it does not show my lg drive but after it does(think its asking if i want to boot from it) i can still use it to read dvd and cd's.
wen i use rawdumper it only has pioneer then i click on the convert raw to iso - it then opens a screen where i need to open somthing- i click on my LG drive and it takes a while to load- then it says ''the disc might be corrupt. make sure the disc uses a format that windows recognizes. If the disc isunformatted, you need to formate it before using it''
please can any1 help me, ive bought this drive 3days ago and ive not been able to use it for its 'purpose' lol

I have the same drive as you. It is an IDE drive.
Regarding Cable Select - To the left of the cable connection, you should see a section of 6 pins. You will want to place a jumper on the far left 2 pins. The jumper should be vertical. (See pic below.)
:::

| Place jumper over this group of pins.

You will not use the Convert Raw to ISO, that was used a long time ago. When you get your LG drive recognized, you will use Start Dump.

Bigd1234, there are no PAR2 files, only a bunch of rar files. So when I'm done downloading them, I usually click on the first rar file and it does the extract for the rest. It will get about halfway complete and get an error message.
Are any of the files smaller than the rest, especially in the middle. I used to run into problems where some of the rar files were not complete, and I would have to re-download a different rar file.

Hi all, great thread!
I have a problem, here's my situation.
- Wiikey added today to my 3.0e wii by a game shop
- Downloaded a game today
- it was already in iso mode, no need to unscramble
- burned with ImgBurn 2.3.2.0 on a Verbatim +r with a LG GMA-4082N burner
My wii doesn't detect the disc when I insert it.
What can the problem be?
Thanks,
Ferris
Wii + Wiikey = WiiFun :P

I downloaded 1.9b and burned it on a Verbatim +R DVD with imgburn at x4
When I slip it into my wii, nothing special happens.
What *should* happen when I enter the disc? Is there something to change in the wii parameters menu to accept these kinds of discs?
I'm beginning to think that the shop may have messed up when they soldered the wiikey.
Thanks!

After reading like 50 pages, i am ready to post my question. I understand the first page, and know how to use raw dump, and use nero to burn. However, when i insert a backup copy of Big Brain Academy,
Wii gives error message can not read disk
using Ben Q burner
Nero to burn
did try to bak up game online, on wii menu it read the disc but can not play it, error message comes up
Wii plays original games fine, even big brain academy, the game i am trying to burn
please help, thank you.

just be a bit more specific, what console you running, firmware version, game region.
Are you saying that a backup copy of big brain academy will load on the start up screen in the wii menu but when you click start it will come up with an error?
Did you burn at 1x speed for better result? or you dont care bout that stuff? also make sure it wasn't a bad dump eg. wrong file size

You need a modchip installed in order to play backups.
