I'm trying to make an image of nfshp2 whith DDump, but it takes a lot of time during the firs sectors ,and show the message .."Recovering: ERROR.." is that normal??
Try CDMAge to check an image you already have for corruption because of the error you are getting. http://www.onlythebestfreeware.com/program.asp?program_id=120 (To download CDMage)Freeware. Scan the image for corruption and then try burning it with another burning application. DDump has a fast sector skip problem that has not been resolved. Try another program. But I don't have got the image, because de DDump can't do it. The CDimage works only with images already created.
Are you trying to CREATE an image from a file on your hard drive or of a CD-ROM. Or are you trying to BURN/WRITE an image to a file or CD-ROM? Wernicke__X_X_X_X_X_[small]Measley A+ Cert. I suggest you use "Winiso" You can download it from "winiso.com" or as I said you may find it lying around here or there. The process for burning/writing images of Cd's with winiso is very simple. I also said DiscDump has fast sector skip problems which may be related to your problem. Try Winiso or any other related program besides the one you are using to create the image. It should work. If what you said is true so far, clean your cd. If not, try repairing the bad sectors with CDMage from my first message of this thread. Wernicke
Sorry!! I have talked very fast, Inspite of Bad sectors, the WinIso has made the image .ISO Eureka!!. Then I have seen the image with CDmage, and I see that the sectors 0 to 150 dosens't exist in the image, although them are in the original CD ????. The next step is to burn this image into a CD and try it. I can do it with WinIso, CloneCD,CDRWin... which are better?
You don't use WinIso to read (dump) an image form a cd m8. First use ClonyXXL and scan the disc to determine (if any) if there's cd protection such as Safedisc or SecuROM. If it is Safedisc 2.x cd protected, then use CloneCD 4.2.0.2 and in the read process, choose "fast error skip". If SecuROM, read sub-q channel data\audio. It is common to encounter errors when reading (dumping) images of Safedisc 2.x during the first 1-10500 sectors of the cd. CloneCD 4.2.0.2: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/clonecd.cfm CloneCD 4.2.0.2 (hands down m8) Your "reader" can't read pre-gap, found within 1-150 sectors of the cd image. For some reason when i tried CloneCD 4.202 for NFSHP2 it failed miserably hehe... A120 worked nicely though.
If Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is Safedisc 2.8.x cd protected so backup must be played in a dvd\cd-rom. If playing in your Asus then you need ATIP tool such as CloneCD's "hide cd-r" or Alcohol 120% "ignore media type" enabled. Your Asus "might" be a "hit& miss" backing up Safedisc 2.8-2.9. Solution is FireBurner 2.21 m8. My Memorex 52MAXX is a "hit& miss" using CloneCD 4.2.0.2 but my Polaroid BurnMAX48 backups with perfection using CloneCD 4.2.0.2. Simply read the image of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit using CloneCD 4.2.0.2 and create cue sheet and burn wit' FireBurner 2.21= perfecto backup and will play in your dvd\cd-rom (if applicable). Shoey
Hello!! I did the image with CloneCD 4.2.0.2 and burned it with the same , but when I run the game it crashes (the installation was sucessfull). Then, I did the image with Alcohol 120% , and burned it with the same, and happened the same as Clone CD. Ahhhhhhrrrrrrrr!!!!
Try using emulation using Alcohol 120% m8. Enable "ignore media type\bad sector emulation" and minmize Alcohol 120% to system tray (startup) and play the backup in your cd burner. Shoey
