I'm having problems with the Q6600 and my evga680i m/b
it works great with a E6600 core duo but with the Q6600 (and a 3.4 P4D dualcore) it plays up while playing games
keys don't respond or do the wrong thing
I have reloaded xp and vista several times does not make any difference
    anyone have any ideas ?
anyone have this config and NO probs?

Yeah it is, do you have any other motherboard to try it on? maybe your keyboard is not working right?

test the keyboard with another computer, then test it with the same computer but with a quad

I know you need dual core patches for some games, perhaps there are Quad core patches?

tried three ps2 keyboards and two usb all had the same probs
got everyone here mistified :) and they are all pretty good techs
evga are no help at all
mircosoft released a patch for the core duo fault and intel have updated that but it hasn't fixed this particular problem
beginning to think it's the motherboard rather than the chip :) so waiting for a customer to order a striker :) and i'm gonna try it in that :)
but it's not just the games , it just notices more in games cos the keyboard takes more of a hammering
does sillies just in windows also :)

I have to say I'm baffled. BIOS updates don't solve it?

pcrepair, this only happens when playing games but not browsing the net or word proccessing or whatever? have you check game sites for patches, updates & faqs?

it sounds like its all the time, but gaming makes it more noticeable. I can only presume your chipset is glitched in some manner. Not sure how to resolve that though, googling doesn't tell me much.
