Is it safe? Last time i did my psp almost bricked so i had to recover it, then it started to show the 80020148 error when i tried to launch games. I would do the config fix, but it would never stay, so i went down to 3.10 oe. Did i do something wrong during the upgrade? I remember when it said to manually restart i just turned it on regularly if that affected it in anyway. So im just wondering cause i wanna go to the latest cf but do not want to screw up my psp again. Thanks

firstly what firmware do you have at moment?

if you have custom firmware then its all safe to upgrade

if not then still safe just be more carefull AND DONT UNPLUG THE POWER!!!

once installed

turn psp all off
turn on holding (R) trigger

input these settings

PSP RECOVERY SETTINGS

\CONFIG
Skip SCE Logo = ENABLED (Optional)

Hide Corrupt Icons = ENABLED

Game Folder Homebrew = 1.50 KERNAL

Autorun Program At /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP = DISABLED

Use NO-UMD = : ENABLED (If Game Wont Work Then Disable)
: DISABLED (If You Have A UMD In The Drive)

Fake Region = DISABLED

Free UMD Region = ENABLED

\ADVANCED
Plain Modules in UMD/ISO = ENABLED

Execute BOOT.BIN In UMD/ISO = DISABLED

Use ISOFS Driver Also In UMD-Inserted Mode = DISABLED


then make sure you do the following

KEY : ms0 = main root of memory stick

GAMES (ISO/CSO) = ms0/ISO - FOLDER ONLY!!
GAMES (PSX EBBOTS) = ms0/PSP/GAME - FOLDEER ONLY!!
HOMEBREW APPZ OR CUSTOM FIRMWARE UPDATES = ms0/PSP/GAME150

currently have 3.10 oe-a. when it says restart psp press x from what i can remember will it turn off and on itself or do i just turn it on normally? sorry for the newbie-ness just dont trust myself after almost screwing over my psp lol.

i always do manulaly as then u know whats being installed and its just as easy

also when u press x i belive it will complete turn off yes.

if u dont see a blue screen called recovery menu then it didnt turn all way off so just hold off for 10 seconds and then turn on holding (R) trigger

also dunno what u play on ya psp but ive gone back to 3.03OE-C for better compatiblity on cheat devices etc

does your 3.03 oe-c work with the newer games because my 3.10 oe-a will only show the 80020148 error on parappa the rappa and some other new games. any way to make it work or is it a matter of upgrading

works fine with POPS & All My CSO's...

i got few games a wile back and thy were ripped wrong

all work fine with any firmware

that error code u got is coz u not set ya psp up properly or got it in the right folder,...

GAMES (ISO/CSO) = ms0/ISO - FOLDER
GAMES (EBOOTS) = ms0/PSP/GAME - FOLDER
HOMEBREW APZZ = ms0/PSP/GAME150 (IF USING KERNAL 1.50)

if you used my settings then the above will work fine

thanks for the replies. still thinkin of if i should upgrade to 3.40 oe-a. my friend says the only plus of having it is only if you have a ps3 which i dont. whats better, to stay with 3.1 or upgrade? and RIPPERD thanks for the site link that place has great games.

no 3.30oe-a is much better, newer sony features and all the same features of 3.03-c

hey this is a side question and i dont want to make a new thread just to ask lol. i have a folder in the root of my memorystick that is called dump. is it safe to delete this folder?

3.40OE-A is the best for new game releases (only that need 3.40 firmware)

otherwise 3.03OE-C is better coz u can do more with it (customize XMB and more homebrew appz work better)

i have GTA:LCS and the LCS Cheat Device works fine with 3.03OE-C but freezes psp as soon as it loads the game with 3.40OE-A

get 3.03OE-C if u dont have games that require higher that it

get 3.40OE-A if you need the higher support..

but dont bother wit 3.10OE-A or A2 and the same with 3.30OE-A or A2 just leave them to collect dust on ya hard drive. lol

yeah just delete it.

its most probly from CWCHEAT and not needed
